The Number One Way How The Job Scare Will Affect Your CreditHow the Job Scare Will Affect Your Credit Our country has just seen the biggest job loss in over 5 years. In the month of September, over 159,000 jobs were cut. 79,000 jobs were cut in August. And the worst part is that things don’t seem to be getting any better. Investors are continuing to worry about their investments and the stock market. The Dow has been spending more time dropping than anything else. The NASDAQ and Standard and Poor’s 500 Index aren’t doing too much better. Gas keeps creeping up again. So, what does this all mean to Americans. Unfortunately, the majority of the population haven’t been big savers. Yes, the economy is terrible right now. In addition, more and more people are losing their jobs. The people who are losing their jobs might now have enough in saving to get them through the time it will take for them to find another job. How are these unemployed people going to survive? Some will turn to the government to start receiving unemployment checks. Other families will begin to live off of credit cards. Credit cards do come in handy during times like this. Although, it is quite dangerous to live solely off of credit cards. As you do this, the balance will soar. Before you know it, you will have several thousand dollars on your credit card with no way to pay it off. If you have found yourself in a tight situation because of the increasing layoffs, try to use your credit card minimally. Actively look for a new job, don’t waste any time. You really can’t afford to take a few weeks off. Our economic times demand that you get back on track as soon as you can. Don’t let your credit card balance get sky high before you decide its time to do something for you and your family. Get right back to work. As soon as you find another job, pay off your debts as quickly as you can. Then, start saving for a rainy day (such as this one) by making yourself use personal budget software programs that force you to save. You’ll be better prepared and ready to handle anything that our economy throws at you. No Comments Yet - You can be the first to comment! |
